BTCCSquare news:

A brutal attack in Vienna underscores a disturbing trend: cryptocurrency holders are increasingly targeted for violent crimes. Danylo K., a 21-year-old Ukrainian student, was lured to a hotel garage, tortured for his wallet credentials, and set ablaze in his own car. The assailants fled to Ukraine, evading extradition.

This incident is part of a surge in crypto-linked violence. Risk consultancies recorded 21 cases in the first five months of 2025 alone, nearly matching 2024's total of 31. Jameson Lopp of Casa reports over 50 documented 'wrench attacks' globally this year—double last year's count. The pattern is clear: criminals are exploiting blockchain's transparency to locate high-value targets.
